We Gotta Talk Ya’ll For starters, I looked around and realized that I had said nothing to my teenager about the time BEFORE CHRIST. Yes!, there was a time that I cared more about having fun and less about what “thus sayeth the Lord”. I realized that my daughter thought that just because I didn’t talk about parties and clubs and dating, that didn’t mean that I don’t know about those things. |

I had said nothing about how I survived before . . . I never said, “I worked hard but played harder.” Here are the rules that I collected and used to survive dating. They don’t mention anything about Jesus! I traveled the whole world on these rules. Here’s me, re-membering. . .This is raw. Write to me about this! Check back often so we can discuss these and other issues regarding teenagers. Hopefully we can dialogue on this and come up with other ideas. We have got to do something! Our children suffer! |

Life Saving Rules for Dating 1. Never date anyone who is related to your ex or you are related to their ex. That means friends, siblings, cousins, arch-enemies, etc. 2. Never date anyone is a drug dealer or supports the illegal use of pharmaceuticals, alcohol, herbs or other emotion-altering substance. 3. Never date anyone who is dating or married to someone else. 4. When on a date, never leave your drink or food unattended, even while dancing. 5. When asked to go on a date, or leave one place to go to another, if any fiber of your being says ,“No”, don’t go. Even if you really want to go. 6. Practice knowing how you will get out of/away from each and ever imaginable situation or circumstance. Ask yourself, “How will I get out of here in an emergency?” 7. If you are in an atmosphere that doesn’t “feel” right, leave immediately. 8. Always be able to go home on your own. Have your own money. 9. Watch your dates’ actions and listen to their words. If the words don’t match the actions, don’t trust them. Leave as soon as you know. Don’t go with people you don’t know. 10. Do not ingest any form of legal or illegal pharmaceutical while on a date or before going on a date. 11. Go home! Do not stay out! 12. If you are in an atmosphere with alcohol, never have more than one drink per hour, nor have more than three drinks in one setting. Eat first and drink plenty water throughout the night. Ask for “a water back”. The bar tender knows what that means. Follow these rules explicitly. Do not deviate. |
